2019, Year of Quran Interpretation in Tatarstan
The Muftiyat of Tatarstan will publish its Quran tafsirs (interpretations) in the Russian and Tatar languages in 2019, the press service of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Republic of Tatarstan said, islam.ru website reported.
It was decided earlier during the traditional meeting of the board.
During the meeting, the Muftiyat chose dates for amending the provision “On certification of Imams of the Central Religious Organization - Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan”, the plenary session of the Tatarstani Muslims Spiritual Administration and discussed the work plan for the next year.
Tatarstan is a federal subject of the Russian Federation located in the Volga Federal District. Its capital is the city of Kazan.
Over 55 percent of the estimated 3.8 million population in Tatarstan is Muslim.
